Fouad Issa Hanhan
“Lucky to be here.”
Fouad Issa Hanhan, AKA, Rocky, was born on May 19th, 1943 in Lydda, Palestine to his beloved parents Nasifeh Kishek Hanhan and Issa Saliba Hanhan, both pre- deceased him. He was baptized at Saint George Orthodox Church in Lydda, Palestine, a church with deep roots and meaning to the Hanhan family. Fouad always longed to return to his ancestral home to his last day on earth.
Fouad passed away on January 24th, 2021, age 77 in San Diego, California. He was a truly genuine man who loved everyone but loved most of all, his lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Fouad is remembered for being “one of a kind”. He was generous, pure-hearted, thoughtful, poetic, resourceful and original. He was always full of spirit and remained positive, no matter what life put in his way. His love of singing brought so much joy to everyone. He would always lift people up with a perfect song to suit the moment or mood. He always professed being “lucky”, and gave thanks to the lord no matter what. His beautiful free spirit took him around the world, always adventuring and never meeting a stranger. He landed in Michigan, where he met his beautiful wife and love of his life, Claudia Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Rogers (Gainesville, Fl) children Issa Hanhan, his children Damian Black and Mark Hanhan (San Diego, CA), Nicole Leff, her husband Todd and her daughter Nasifeh Leff (Philadelphia, PA), and Sam Henderson (Paris, France) his children Max and Jake Henderson.
He is also survived by his 9 siblings their spouses and children. Saliba Hanhan his wife Debbie and children Easa, Emily and Omar. Violet Hanna, her husband Aziz and her children Eddie, Tammy, Issa and Maher. Nabil Hanhan his wife Rasha and children Issa, Natasha, Marwan, and Yasmeen. Victor Hanhan his wife Sana, and children Maesa, Marcella and Ghassan. Aida Salib her husband John, and children Rami, Nancy Daher and Waleed Salib. Nabila Brown her husband Harvey and children Michael and Ashley. Mary and her husband Albert Zeitler, Jamal Hanhan and Susie Fenger her husband Rasmus and children Nicholas, Alexander, and Christopher. He was also blessed with many great nieces and nephews who all loved him as well. He was truly loved by so many people and he will be sorely missed by all. His memory will be eternal and may he Rest In Peace with his parents and all his beloved aunts and uncles who passed before him. We love you Fouad, we know you’re singing us a beautiful song right now.
Funeral rites will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Archangel Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church at Williamsburg, Michigan. Father Ciprian Streza will officiate and burial will take place immediately following at the Mount View Cemetery in McBain, Mi.
