Charles “Charlie” John Kill., age 64, of McBain passed away at Munson Health Care of Cadillac on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. Charlie was born on Jan. 19, 1957 to Arthur and Pauline (Bidelman) Kill in Edmore. He married Renee Culver on May 23, 1987 in Cadillac.
Charlie was a member of the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church where he had been janitor for several years. He was an Army Veteran and served from 1974 to1983. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, auto racing and was the pit crew for Caleb in Merritt, and tractor pulling. He enjoyed working on refrigeration and he loved visiting with people. He was a trickster and enjoyed having fun. He drove his semi for over 20 years and drove for Four D Trucking in McBain. He enjoyed his many friendships within the Amish community. In recent years he enjoyed vacationing with his sweetie seeing new places. His favorite was taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. He loved animals and especially his dogs, Ramsey and Roxy.
Charlie is survived by his wife; Renee Kill of McBain, children; Michael Kill of Sweetwater, TN, Alicia (Cliff) Crowe of Alma, Kole (Megan) Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Caleb (Margo) Kill of McBain, grandchildren Karly, Keegan, Ozzy, Kiyah Crowe all of Alma. Siblings Kenny (Julie) Kill of Merrill, Cheri (Doug) Nelson of Cadillac, Rick (Deanna) Kill of Pinconning, Lisa (Kevin) Sisson of Cadillac, in-laws; Daleen (Ken) Siegert of Gladwin, Bob (Ricci) Culver of Altamonte Springs, FL, David (Patti) Culver of Jackson, Caryn (Darrin) York of Savannah, Georgia.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father and mother; Arthur and Pauline, father- in- law and mother in-law, Dale and Andrea Culver and step father; Bryce VanderVlugt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church at 12:30 PM, with Pastor Rich Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM till 12:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the church. Military honors will be presented by the Lake City Jackson Koster Gray Post 300. A luncheon will follow the service. Contributions may be made out to a memorial fund of your choice.
