Betty Lou Morgan, 91, of Engadine and formerly of Marion, left this Earth to spend eternity with her heavenly Father and beloved husband Sylvan Henry Morgan on Sunday November 15, 2020.
Born October 3, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of the late Forest and Sarah (Holstein) Ragsdale, Betty grew up in the Hazel Park area and, at the age of 13, met the love of her life Sylvan Henry Morgan Jr. whom she married at the age of 16.
Betty was a devoted homemaker raising her family and was proud to receive her high school diploma in 1989. Betty held several employments in the Marion area and later was employed as a cook at the Marion School District until her retirement.
Betty attended the Marion United Methodist Church and an active member of the women's group. Betty was also a member of the Eveready Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting winning many ribbons from her entries at the local county fair.
In 2011, Betty moved to Engadine to be closer to her son Harley and his wife Joy. Betty attended the Engadine United Methodist Church and attended senior luncheons. In 2013 and due to her health issues, Betty became a resident of Golden Leaves Living Center and enjoying the activities and outings.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her beloved Bassett SADIE ANN; siblings William, Paul and Raymond Ragsdale; her only grandson Harley Michael Morgan Jr.
Survivors include her children Sylvan "Hal" (Nancy) Morgan Jr. of Trapper Creek, Alaska; Harley (Joy) Morgan of Engadine and Paul Morgan of McBain; granddaughter Brandi (Brian) Morgan-Hoke of Girdwood, Alaska and great-grandson Alexander Dwyer of Nashville, TN.
Due to COVID-19, a public graveside service will be held Saturday November 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion with Pastor James Mort officiating.
