Thelma Louise Curtis, age 81, of Lake City passed away on April 20, 2019 at the Pleasant Ridge Lodge near Cadillac.
She was born on June 13, 1937 at Lawton, Michigan to Albert and Bessie (Hooker) Cubitt. Thelma married Ervin LeRoy Curtis Sr. on June 13, 1954 at Lake City and he preceded her in death. Thelma was a home maker, loved to do quilting, embroidering on plastic canvas, baking and gardening. She attended the Jennings Mission when she was able to.
She is survived by her children, Ervin LeRoy (Karen) Curtis Jr of McBain, Ivan Dean (Beth) Curtis of Lake City, Edwin Leo (Barb) Curtis of Lake City and Connie (Ron) DeHaan of Manton. She has several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with her siblings, George (Sue) Cubitt of Florida, Clyde (Karlene) Cubitt of Florida and Marie Cowley of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband along with two daughters, Janet Rae Schoenmaker and Penny Louise Curtis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 11:00 A.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with Rev. Steve Boven officiating and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Jennings. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
