On November 20, 2018 Ruth Mae (Lockwood) Turk went to her eternal home be with her Lord and Savior. Ruth was born February 23, 1930 to Clinton Henry Lockwood and Nellie Arnold Lockwood in Church Hill, Tennessee. Ruth married Erwin LaMar Russ on February 21, 1947. They had 5 children, James Erwin Russ, Larry Gene (Winona) Russ (Keim), Shirley Kay, Ruthann Elaine and Garry Lee (Leisa) Russ. Ruth later married Gerald (Jerry) David Turk on April 7, 1968. Ruth graduated from Cadillac High School in 1947. She had a long working career, retiring from the Standard Oil Co. in Villa Park, Illinois. Upon retirement, she and Jerry moved to Lake City, Michigan where they bought a home and happily resided until his death in 2006. Ruth continued living in the family home until she was unable to care for herself and was moved to Autumnwood in McBain, Michigan in 2014. A special thanks to the staff at Autumnwood for their love and care of our loved one. Ruth loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, the electric guitar and her accordion. Her family was her life! She was loving and kind and everyone was family to her. Ruth had a very large family with 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews. She loved animals and dearly loved her little dog Cuddles. In Lake City Ruth regularly attended the Christian Reformed Church. Ruth is survived by her sister Joan (John) Brown of Texas and her brother William (Lois) Lockwood of New Mexico and her son Garry (Leisa) Russ of Cadillac, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, her sisters Helen and Wilma, her sons James and Larry and her daughters Shirley and Ruthann. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. amen
